Van der Graaf Generator 久しぶりにライヴ |
イギリスの Van der Graaf Generator が 8/22 久しぶりにライヴを行った。コロナでずっとできないでいたものだ。
イギリスは Devon での Beautiful Days Festival だ。
Van der Graaf Generator（ヴァン・ダー・グラーフ・ジェネレーター）は 60年代に生まれ、長いこと「アンダーグラウンド」のバンドとして自他ともに認める、かなりエッジ―なバンドだった。しかし、21世紀に入り「復活」した後はフェスなどにも出演するようになり、（こういう言い方は普通しないが）オーヴァーグラウンドといっても差し支えなくなった。とは言うものの、バンドのシンガー/ギタリスト Peter Hammill は相変わらず「アンダーグラウンド」ではある。

イギリスではコロナは縮小するかのように見えたが、コーンワルでの Boardmasters フェスでは 4,700 人の感染者が報道されている。今後の Van der Graaf Generator のコンサート日程にどう影響するか。
