King Crimson の「完成」 |
6 日付け（8日ではないので念のため）の Tony Levin の Road Diary には次のようにある。
This tour has been announced as the band’s last tour of Japan, but it is likely King Crimson’s final tour.
このツアーは最後の日本ツアーになると発表されているが、多分 King Crimson 最後のツアーになるだろう。
昨日の Bunkamura 公演終了後に Robert Fripp が以下を投稿している。
Onstage at 18.40, doors held for 10' to allow the audience to enter. A full house. The first set: one hour and three minutes. Overall length: 2 hours and 24 minutes. KC’s final note of Starless, the last note of this Completion Tour in Japan, moved from sound to silence at 21.04.
ここには微妙な表現が見える。KC’s final note of Starless, the last note of this Completion Tour in Japan とは、この日本の「完成ツアー」最後の音、King Crimson の Starless in Bible Black 最後の音と書かれている。
全体的なトーンは「これで King Crimson はバンドとして終わり」というものだ。開演・終演時刻だとか、演奏時間が書いてあり、いかにも「歴史的」に書かれている。だが、それは雰囲気だけで、確実にそう言っているわけではない。"this" Completion Tour が微妙だ。「この」完成ツアーということは、「次」があることをにおわせる。だた、「完成ツアー」というのが、ファンを煙にまく。
Fripp 一流の、意識的・無意識的あいまいさがここにはある。数日前投稿で「完成の後には新しい始まりがある」とも書いている。いやはや、なかなか（無意識的とすれば天性の）ビジネスマンではある。
